Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: Unsure

I had Best Buy install my Deco X60 3-pak router and Charter/Spectrum modem in mid-December. It has worked TOTALLY FLAWLESSLY since installation. I understand

there is now a firmware update. I have some concerns:

  1. I cannot find the version number. It's not

on the label under the bar code (so indicated

on line). I also don't know the latetst firmware

version

  1. My main concern: modems/routers not my

forte. I am AFRAID of trying to install the

upgrade and having wi-fi freeze up. I also

wonder if I NEED the upgrade. Am I at

great risk by NOT doing it

  @compiler

Hi, welcome to the community.

You could refer to this link to check the hardware version:

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/46/

And here are some common rules of firmware upgrade:

Update Deco

And Deco X60(US)_V4.6_1.0.2 Build 20230303, compared with last version-Deco X60(US)_V4.6_1.0.1_220412,

Modifications and Bug fixes:
1. Improved compatibility with a few ISPs.
2. Improved IPTV bridge mode stability.
3. Improved overall stability.

It hasn't added any new features so if everything works well on 1.0.1, you don't have to update the firmware.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
