Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20230601 Rel. 58453

Hi, I recently bought Deco XC75s (3 pack).
I have 500mbps fibre to the router and was mostly fine with the Vodafone router, as it's in the hall just outside my office but I wanted to get wifi in the garden.

The XC75s is doing what I wanted in the most part with wifi now in the garden but my laptop, which hasn't moved and the router is in the same place on the VF router keeps losing throughput to the internet.

I haven't anything on the internal network to check throughput so not sure if this is a connection issue to router vs a XC75 throughput to internet issue.

A speed test on my laptop reaches over 500mbps and then, when on a Zoom call, I constantly get voice drops. I test again and lucky if I get 30mbps (which should be fine for Zoom still) but until I disable/enable the laptop wifi and reconnect it doesn't restore. I can do this 30 times a day!

I have selected my local Deco as the only Deco my laptop should connect to. My laptop is on the 5Ghz. The 6ghz is only being used for back haul.

I have no business VPN running.

I'd like to emphasize, this is not a internet issue and only occurred after implementing the Deco's

Please advise.

Hi, do you connect the main Deco XE75 behind the original Vodafone router?

Since the default operation mode of Deco is also wireless router mode, if possible, it is suggested to change Deco into Access Point mode.

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

After that, please turn off the Wi-Fi on the Vodafone router and leave Deco the only available Wi-Fi network.

Wait for your reply.

best regards.

@David-TP Hi, thank you for the reply. My Deco is connected directly to the ONT and VF router is already completely removed. So the primary Deco is in Router mode and the other 3 are in AP mode.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Hi, in this way, please refer to the following suggestions:

1. Enable QOS and set "High Priority" for the laptop.

2. Enable "SIP ALG" under Deco APP>More>NAT Forwarding.

2. Temporarily disable "Fast roaming" and "Beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

Please let me know whether any of them helped.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Thank you.

I had QoS and High Priority enable previously but have reinstated to ensure I follow your guidance,

SIP ALG was already enabled.

Fast Roaming was disabled already and I have now disabled Beamforming.

I will spend the day assessing whether this has made any difference and get back to this thread either way.

Thanks again for your support.
