Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.6

My deco are configured as access point and have them all connected via Ethernet to my modem.

My main deco is shown connected with wired as normally would be but the other 2 deco are connecting with WiFi to the main deco instead of using the Ethernet cable to connect.

I already did some TS:

reboot decos

reboot modem

change Ethernet cable

change ports on modem

Delete network, factory reset deco and re-do the network.

Nothing of this worked.

This was working until around 2 weeks ago that started using WiFi and we haven't change the modem nor the configuration on the modem.

Do someone has an idea on how to make it work?

  @Chieto

Hi, may I know the model number of your ISP modem router?

Can you run the following test:

ISP modem router--main Deco M4---<cable>-satellite M4#1---<cable>-satellite M4#2

Are you able to get Ethernet Backhaul on satellites #1 and #2?

Have you also tried to switch to a different Deco as the main Deco?

How to Set up the Satellite Deco or a new Deco to be the Main Deco

By the way, how long have you had the Deco M4 kit?

Thank you very much.

best regards.

Hi  @David-TP

Th ISP Modem is a Huawei HG6145F.

I test running it ISP - M4 Main - M4 #1 and it kind of worked, on the app it showed as connected via ethernet and all good, actually I though on buying a switch to connect both M4 to the main deco when I realize that I was getting 80 Mbps out of 300 Mbps this way, so I rollback.

My new finding:

When this started I had the main deco in the kitchen, once this started failing, I delete the network, factory reset every deco using the reset botton and stablish a new network (with the same name using other device as main deco. For some reason the Deco that is in the kitchen, it is still working as main deco even when I configured other as main deco.

On the Kitchen Deco, the wifi is not working, It shows the network, you can connect but it does not give any internet, only ahppening with that one.

First Conclusion:

That Kitchen deco is broken and adding alot of stress to the network (and me) and must be replace

I'd like to hear different TS before throwing it to the trash :D
