Model: Archer C64
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.12.10 Build 230208 Rel.38878n(4555)

Hi, I have Archer C64 1.0

Firmware Version: 1.12.10 Build 230208 Rel.38878n(4555)

I did try in router mode and subsequently in AP mode too, but after a while it randomly switches to the other mode (the one which is currently NOT selected)

This creates a complete hawoc on my network.

What I have noticed is that it shows different version of the firmware when this happens. Is this a feature? or is some sort of setting making it to switch modes arbitrarily? or faulty HW?

Thank you in advance.

There's no such setting or feature in C64. The FW version in router mode and AP should be the same.

You can reset C64 to its factory defaults and re-configure from scratch to check if that will resolve the issue.

"Press and hold the WPS/Reset button until all LEDs turn off to reset the router to its factory default settings"

Make sure that the place you've put C64 is well ventilated and the device is not overheating.

Thanks for your answer.

Forgot to mention that I indeed did a full reset and also try to reflash the firmware. It didn't help.

Only thing I can try is to downgrade the firmware. It's a mystery. The router is located in the coldest place in the house..garage

There's no point of downgrading the FW version - 1.12.10 Build 230208 Rel.38878n(4555) is a stable version.

Can you post what are the two different FW versions that are showing in router and AP mode ?

Given this abnormal device behavior, best approach in your case would be to contact your local support and ask for assistance.
