@FabianC out of curiosity, what's the workaround?

I had purchased BE85 units a few months ago and had data corruption issues / inability to finish downloads. See https://www.reddit.com/r/TpLink/comments/12uip0c/comment/jnuqdqg/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 for more detail.

I also worked with Aaron and provided a ton of information surrounding the issue. Ultimately, TP-Link wasn't able to resolve the issue before my return window was going to expire so I had to return the devices.

Ended up going with eero Pro 6Es and have been pretty happy.

My hunch is that the Linux drivers for the new Qualcomm chips used in TP-Link's WiFi 7 kit aren't mature enough yet, and/or some sort of hardware acceleration engine is causing data corruption.

@ampx they provided me with a custom firmware and had me run a command that stops an specific Qualcomm service/feature. As soon as I do that everything works as expected.

So, it seems your assumption is correct, it's somewhere along those lines.

Hello everyone, I am having the exact same issue, I tried a number of different combinations of upstream internet connection, disabling/enabling features, different computers, using different access points in the network, the issue can safely be pin-pointed to the be85's wifi corrupting packages which affects downloads larger than around 50-200mb.

How did you get the support team to fix the issue? Is there a beta firmware download available somewhere?

Thanks a lot in advance.

@danilo404 I gave up and returned the Deco BE85s, switched to eero and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

  @danilo404

Hi, welcome to the community.

I see a new firmware is in the release process and this firmware version might fix the reported issue here.

Please wait for a moment and let me check with the engineers first to see whether we can get a download link.

Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP Thank you for the quick reply, I still have a few days for my return period so I can wait. I also sent an email to support with a few more details and error messages.

Kind regards.

@danilo404 can confirm a beta firmware solves the issue, I've been running it for a few weeks and everything works great. I was told by support/R&D the fix will make its way to a public release.

Maybe David can help you get the beta version in the meantime.

@FabianC Thanks for you message, happy to know there's a light at the end of the tunnel smiley. @David-TP I'd gladly help testing the beta version if you have the link angel.

@ampx I was in touch with support for several days, but in the end I returned the devices and switched to Ubiquiti. Everything worked like a charm!
