Problem with 2,4GHz on DECO X50

Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I'm still with may problem : WIFI 2,4GHz is volatile ...

For a while, I believe it was an ETHERNET wire problem.

But, since I have changed my plugs by premium brand ones.

I have tested again the wire ...

I have three X50 : one main and two satellites.

The first satellite is wired to the main one

The second satellite is wired to the first one and is out of reach by WIFI.

DECO said : evrything seems OK.

A PC plugged in the second satellite is OK.

When I restart the whole DECO, I can see the WIFI 2,4Ghz on the second satellite , but only for a few minutes ... after it disapears !!!

It looks like that DECO decide, on its own, to stop this WIFI ....

Otherwise, the WIFI  2,4 GHz is OK on the main and on the first satellite

WIFI 5GHz is OK on the three X50.

Any idea ??

  @GD91

Hi, nice to see you again.

I did wonder why you started the same post again after https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/616894. And it seemed like there were still something wrong with this unit.

Have you tried to do a hardware reset on this unit by holding the reset pinhole for 1s and adding it again to the Mesh network?

After resetting, if the issue started again, could you please help me run a simple test:

1. Enable guest network for 2.4 GHz only with a different SSID.

2. If the clients are next to the problematic Deco, are they able to detect the 2.4 GHz guest network?

I used to receive feedback that when 2.4ghz is on channel 12/13, some smart home devices are unable to detect the 2.4GHz network and if you checked the 2.4GHz guest again via WiFi analyzer, are you able to detect this network also what is its current channel?

Wait for your reply,

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Thank you for your answer.

I have tried the hard reset

I have made the test with guest

The WIFI channel is #2

Sometimes the WIFI 2,4GHz awake, but for a few minutes ...

The problem is not linked with this unit, as I have exchanged the two satellites and the problem remains the same !!

I've never seen such an issue !!

  @GD91

Hi, Thanks for the update.

Are you trying to say the intermittent 2.4 GHz stays in the same location no matter which Deco is plugged here?

Have you tried to move the satellite X50 to a different room to see whether it made any difference?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @GD91 The problem is the same whatever satellite I put in this place.

I've made a last test :

I've put the satellite in a state where the 2,4Ghz is OK : for this it is installed on the window.

If, I take it back inside the room, 2,4Ghz disappear : guest in first, regular a little bit after ...

When I put it again on the window, 2,4GHz come back ...

I've made the test several times : windows, inside, windows, inside and so on ...

This satellite is in a house at 30 meters from the main one, where is the main DECO.

I wonder what is the difference between windows and inside ??

On the windows it has a chance to get the WIFI sent by the main DECO, not inside the house ???

I am really perplexe !!

  @GD91 I've simplified the configuration.

Now the link is done with a CPL TP-LINK AV1000 and it works perfectly.

I will avoid incriminating the ETHERNET cable.

The situation is still the same : 2,4GHz appear within two minutes when the DECO is put on the window.

2,4 GHz disappear as soon as the DECO is put back inside the room.

When the DECO is inside the room, 2,4 GHz appears sometimes for a few seconds.

I'm going to open a ticket about this issue.
