Hello Guys,
After lot of troubleshooting and efforts I think there seems to be BUG with routers firmware 0.6.0 0.4 v0005.0 Build 130217 Rel.62075n. I am connected to Internet via ADSL and not Cable Lan modem.
When you enable Bandwidth control, FTP stops working from Internet. However, it does work from local network. When you disable Bandwidth control, FTP starts working from internet as well as local network. Any solution or will I need to wait TP-link to confirm / accept this as BUG and release update? Has anyone seen this issue or can reproduce this please?

Have sent an email to TP-LINK support and they say that they are testing the modem and trying to figure out the issue.

I'm also waiting for a fix
2013-10-01 16:38:46
Hello, I've the same issue with my v1 router:
Region : Italy
Model : TD-W8968
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : TD-W8968_V1_130217 (latest from TP-link italian site)
ISP : Telecom Italia (smart 5)
I need to have QoS active as I've to allocate at least 128Kbit bandwidth for VoIP, and when I set up QoS ftp doesn't accepts connections from WAN (if I'm in the LAN network ftp is working well).
I know that TP_Link is focused on v2 now, but I urgently need that they will fix this issue :(
Do you have any news on it?

I received a call from TP link a three weeks ago and they agreed to have this problem in version 1. However, they will test it further and if this not repairable, they will arrange a replacement with version 2.0. Since then I have not received call, no updates nothing. Bad support.

Today, I got the replacement of my router and now its hardware version is 2.0
Unfortunately it also has the same problem. When you enable bandwidth control, FTP does not work from Internet. This happens when you are on ADSL Internet connection.
So, on ADSL connection, if you enable bandwidth control, FTP will not work at all from the Internet. From the local network, no issues.
I will now chase TP-link for their buggy products and look forward for refund.

Update:
Another problem when connected via ADSL Internet. Remote Management does not work when bandwidth control is enabled. Same happens with FTP as mentioned earlier. Stupid product. I sent an email to support no response since WEEKS!
