Hi,

 

Quick 2 questions.

 

First:

 


Original power supply output of x50-PoE in europe is rated 12V / 14,5W.

I know that 802.3at standard that is requierd by x50-PoE, but it covers also 802.3af standard its power limit is 15,5W.

Im wondering if I'm on the edge of use 802.3af or i can use it without problems.

My injector (Ubiquiti U-POE-AF) is rated 48V/0.32A ?

 

Second:

 

Also have two power injectors from TP-Link EAP-245, they have no sticker with any power valies but EAP-245 is compatibile with 802.3at/802.3af and rated 12,5W.

Can I use this power injector with X50-PoE ?

Hi, 

Even though the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard provides up to 15.4 W， Only 12.95 W is assured to be available at the powered device as some power dissipates in the cable.

So It would be better to use  802.3at.

 

As for the POE injectors of EAP245, since there is no sticker and the power supply of 245 is lower than Deco X50-POE, it is hard to say whether they are suitable.

If it is an 802.3af injector, it couldn't either but if it is 802.3at, it would be fine.

It is worth a try since the worst result we could get is they couldn't power on X50-POE. It would not damage the Deco.

It apear to work just fine over several months by now, it was tricky to measure but after some test it looks like x50-PoE will not take more than 12W in my situation. Also PoE Adapter that I mentioned work withot issues and without additional heat.

Adapters from EAP245 was not tested at all in my case.
