Hi all,

I've recently purchased a two Deco X60 system.

I've managed to set up the main unit and the wireless network is in place with it.
But whatever I do the 2nd unit displays a red light. I;ve tried moving it to right next to the router and main unit, but still it shows red.

As I try to add a second unit on the app - it of course doesn't find it.

I've tried the reset button, but nothing.
I've even tried swapping the units and the second one (which was the main) still goes red.

I've post to tp-link support, but as yet, no reply.

have you tried running an Ethernet backhaul with it yet? Try connecting it to your main x60 via Ethernet see if the light changes to green. If it does set it up see if it has a firmware update do any updates available if ther is an update install it then reset that deco and try setting it up wirelessly again. If there is no update available you may have a bad unit I just had an x50 that had a similar issue. Let me know how it goes

Hi, Have you noticed any change to the LED status during the reset?

It is also suggested to refer to this link to see whether this Deco X60 could get into firmware recovery mode:

How to use firmware recovery if the Deco become brick

If it was still solid red all the time, I think you could turn this kit back to Amazon for a new kit.

tp-link support helped me this morning, swapping the units and eventually declared it DOA

It happens sometimes even brand new units fail right out of the box. Glad support helped you and declared the unit doa and hopefully you can get it replaced asap
