Model: Archer AX90
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

when will AX90 will get the "Planned" support for EASYMESH?

I need more routers, and this data may affect my decision.

I understand you cannot give me an exact date, but it will be great if you will share the roadmap for this feature.

Thanks,

Amir

Is Easymesh under development or abandoned?

Why is the top-tier device still waiting?

Is because BE series is marketing?

Can you clarify anything for me?

Update the EasyMesh status for Archer AX90 V1 on Nov 25, 2024:

We have provided a public beta firmware for Archer AX90 V1, which added the support for EasyMesh and Ethernet Backhaul in the following thread:

[Beta Software] Archer AX90 Supports EasyMesh

Welcome to install the beta firmware on your Archer AX90 V1 to build up the mesh network.

We apologize for keeping you waiting and appreciate your patience. As confirmed with the development team once again, the upcoming official firmware for Archer AX90 will not only support EasyMesh but also introduce a suite of exciting new features that you may be interested in, including WireGuard VPN, IoT Network, etc. Given the complexity of integrating these advanced features, the development and testing phases are taking longer than expected.

We are excited to share that the development team is targeting a beta/pre-release firmware release for the Archer AX90 in November, specifically for our community members to explore and provide feedback on these new features. While we are optimistic about this timeline, please be aware that it remains subject to change due to the nature of software development.

I will publish the beta/pre-release firmware as soon as it is ready. In the meantime, please stay tuned to our official channels for updates and further information.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we strive to provide you with the best possible product experience.

@Kevin_Z can you please give some rough estimate?

It is a great product, but I need to know an estimate, in order to decide what to do (I can wait a month or two, but I won't be waiting a whole year).

Thanks,

Amir

@amirkl

Hello Amir,

Thank you very much for asking.

As you mentioned, we cannot give you an exact date or timeline to assure you when EasyMesh will be available for AX90 and those "Planned" models.

Support doesn't get advanced notice of when new updates are being released or when a feature update will be available. But I did confirm with the related team before and I'm being told AX90 is planned to support EasyMesh in Q1 2024, however, that is a plan and not a guarantee.

AX90 supports Onemesh already, you can build up a mesh network with Onemesh extenders. Can I ask and confirm what is exact use case when requiring EasyMesh? Do you actually require Ethernet Backhaul? When talking about EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul, please be aware that both the main router and the satellite devices need to support it. Otherwise, you cannot build an Ethernet Backhaulk between those devices.

  @Kevin_Z Thanks for the response.

I understand that Q124 is not a guarantee, but I can make plans with it....

My use case:

I have a big house. Currently each floor has its own router with its own WiFi (different manufacturers). I want it to be meshed.

Since I have an Ethernet wired connection on each floor, Easymesh with Ethernet Backhaul seems to be the right solution.

On my locale, TP-Link is both popular and relatively cheap, and I already own an AX90, so I want to build a solution with it.

@amirkl

Thank you very much for your explanation and I understand it now.

I agree that it would be great if mode models would support EasyMesh in the near future, which may meet most of your requirements.

I will let you know once AX90 supports EasyMesh. You may also keep an eye on your router web for any updates.

  @amirkl +1 also for EasyMesh - when is this coming please? I've seen the feature on the router box and description but if it's not in the menu we cannot use it!

  @Kevin_Z, may i know when easymesh for AX90 going to roll out?

I have got BE550, and planned to easymesh it, so that I do not have to dispose AX90 which is already great. Thank you.
