Hi,

 

Could you please test if the Archer T2U Plus can use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi when it's plugged into your old laptop? 
(Since the laptop will then have two Wi-Fi devices make sure you check on the correct one. Best would be to disable the laptop's own Wi-Fi card during the test.)

 

Another thing you could try is to manually set the 5 GHz channel on the router to channel 36 and then check again if the Archer T2U Plus can use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

the router supports 5ghz and my old laptop is connected to the 5ghz wifi but my pc with the adapter stopped working few days ago
