I have today a TP-link Archer M600 and to this I have a wired Deco M5 connected and 2 additional M5s.

The Archer MR600 has its own SSID and the Deco M5s have a different SSID.

What I was wondering about is if I can replace the Archer MR600 with the Deco X50 5G

without having to change anything?

I want to run the Deco X50 5G as a router with its own SSID name and to this I want to

wire my Deco M5 to it using a different SSID. Is this possible or does the Deco X50 5G

want to use the Deco M5 in the same Mesh?

Hi, Deco X50-5G could join the Mesh network of Deco M5 as the main Deco with the same SSID, and it would also create a separate Mesh network with a different SSID.

If you wish to use Deco X50-5G to create a different SSID, It would be quite like Archer MR600. So I wonder why you plan to update Archer MR600 to Deco X50-5G in the beginning? for the 5G mobile service?

@David-TP Welll I want to get 5G instead of 4G that I get today.

I tried awhile back to implement thee X50 as a separate SSID like my Archer Mr600

but when I connected the main Deco M5 nothing happened and I believe I would

need to remove the M5 Mesh network and restart. I want to have separate SSID

out to the world and a different SSID for my internal network.

I guess I'll try it again now that I have 5G in my area and see if I really need to

my Deco M5s. I think the main Deco M5 noticed that the X50 5G might belong

to the same Mesh. Not sure.
