Model: Archer C50
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 0.9.1 0.5 v0001.0 Build 230810 Rel.38522n(4555)

Hi All.

On the:

Archer c50 v6
Firmware 0.9.1 0.5 v0001.0 Build 230810 Rel.38522n(4555)

Is there any way I am able to setup port forwarding for the OpenVPN protocol? Can see IPSec, PPTP, or L2TP but I cannot see OpenVPN, which is a bit odd because OpenVPN is much more secure than something like PPTP.

Thank you.
Ben

  @TechKeshi

If you plan to setup an OpenVPN server in your LAN with an IP address 192.168.1.100 (for example) you have to open the ports I mentioned earlier here:

The same way you can add the other port.

This configuration will work only if you see your public IP address on your C50 WAN interface:

Your public IP address can be seen by googling; "What's my IP address" - the result should match the WAN IP address in the screenshot above.

If you plan to setup an OpenVPN client in your LAN then you don't have to open any ports on your C50.

For OpenVPN client connections you should configure port-forwarding (virtual servers) on ports tcp/443 and udp/1194 - details.

@terziyski Thank you for your reply.

It's funny, I couldn't see anything here about OpenVPN:

So thought maybe OpenVPN wasn't available. However, I think you're saying it's possible, but through this section of the interface:

Please excuse my ignorance as I'm learning here (and it might be useful for future searchers): would I setup the port-forwarding under the 'virtual server' tab or one of the other three? Thank you.

Thank you for your time and trouble.

Setting up that port forwarding on my C50 worked.
