When we want to add a OpenVPN server, the hostname field only accepts IP address, not domain name. Can you change the field rules so we can fill domain names too?

ip often is not an option... so ddns (hostname) is used instead.

if you get the domain name from the opvn file, ping the domain and then you can get the IP, the port is listed next to the domain on the .opvn file, but yes, domain would be. awesome!

@TheYam of course it's very easy to get an IP from the domain name by pinging it. But when they change the IP you will lose the connection and you have do do it again.
