I have an IoT network with Google and Alexa devices that I sometimes wish to cast to. They don't appear as cast devices in my apps, even when I disable isolation (which I understand may be redundant on an IoT network).

Does using cast functionality force me to keep these devices on my regular network? And if so, can I at least isolate them?

Thanks!

You're correct! Thank you. Turns out the issue was that I had device isolation enabled for those devices.

I'm just confused. If the IoT network is not isolated, what is the point of it?

Hi, welcome to the community.

The main network and IOT network are not isolated and devices could communicate with each between these two networks.

Have you tested whether casting works if they are both on the main network or IOT network?

Thank you very much and best regards.
