Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0

So, there is an option to create Location Groups.  FOr example, I can create a group called China, and the I assume I could for example, block evertything coming from China.

The only problem is that when looking at the ACLs, I dont see an option to use location groups.

- What is this for?  is in an un-implemented option?

Hi @jwaltrip

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You understand it right. IPv4 CIDR was assigned to different countries. So it means the CIDR belongs to China.

V1 does not support geo-blocking. And it is EOL. We will not add it to the V1. So it is not un-implemented. On V2, it already has this feature.

So, you might consider upgrading your model.

So, ER7206 V2 has been released which means V1 may be at the stage of discontinuation.

ER605 V2 is revisioned with better specs than ER605 V1. It should stay longer than V1. But it is still the entry-level model. I cannot really guarantee you its lifespan.

I'd recommend you get the new models except for ER605(V2 and its siblings) and ER7206 V1
