Model: Deco BE85
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.13 Build 20230927 Rel. 38826

Hi, just got my first TP-Link product, BE85, although I'm very happy with the speed (I'm currently on 2.5Gbps, upgrading to 10Gbps soon) it has been crashing on me now 2 days in a row.

When it happens all devices loose wifi connection, I can still ping the Deco put to fix it I have to turn it off and on again.

Before I had an Asus RT-AXE7800, that never crashed on me on the same modem/connection.  I'm in Iceland and its a fiber connection to the modem and then an ethernet cable to the Deco

Since I'm new to the TP-Link Deco eco system I'm not sure how best to debug this, can anyone please help ?

best regards

Hi, welcome to the community.

May I know who is your internet service provider? Can I have the model number of the cable modem?

Would the LED on the main Deco BE85 turn solid red during the disconnection?

Please also check the IPV4 settings under Deco APP>More>Internet connection>IPv4 to see whether there is still a valid Internet IP address here when Deco dropped out.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP , thanks so much for your reply.

  • May I know who is your internet service provider? Can I have the model number of the cable modem?

My fiber provider is "Gagnaveita Reykjavíkur" or https://www.ljosleidarinn.is and my ISP is Hringdu, or https://www.hringdu.is

I have no access to the fiber box but the markins on it are

genexis FiberTwist-PX2310
2022-05 HV:1.2

  • Would the LED on the main Deco BE85 turn solid red during the disconnection?

I had the leds turned off so I do not know, but I've turned them on again to catch it if it happens again, and I only have 1 Deco unit, its plenty for my appartment.

and I also enabled daily  reboots in the Deco app, hasn't happend again since I turned it on.

  • Please also check the IPV4 settings under Deco APP>More>Internet connection>IPv4 to see whether there is still a valid Internet IP address here when Deco dropped out.

Don't believe I can check that since the SSID is not visible anymore when this happens, can I check that on my wired PC?  The wired HTTP/HTTPS interface seems very limited to me

  • Wait for your reply and best regards.

best regards,

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.

When Deco BE85 dropped out, as long as you could still detect its wireless network and get connected to WiFi, you should be able to open the Deco APP and check for the IPV4 settings even thought the Wi-Fi might have internet access at this moment.

And you could also check for the current "Internet IP address" by clicking the internet icon on the web http/https page.

By the way, Deco BE85 V1 and V2 shares the same firmware version, It is also suggested to download to the latest 1.0.14 firmware manually via web UI:

Deco BE85_1.0.14 Build 20231124

Wait for your reply and best regards.
