I have this network config:

Fiber modem (from provider Movistar Argentina) -> Archer C80 -> TL-WN821N

 

Archer C80 is the DHCP server and has smart connect enabled (same SSID for 2.4 and 5 Ghz)

 

My connection is 300 Mbps, in fact my Samsung A03 when I use Speedtest say near 300 Mbps

But my pc when use the TL-WN821N to connect, say between 20-40 Mbps

Hi, welcome to the community.

Since TL-WN821N supports 2.4GHz only, its wireless speed will not be as fast as Samsung A03.

If you just purchased TL-WN821N, It would be much better to replace it with a dual-band wireless adapter.

If you had it for a while, you could try to following suggestions to see whether it helped improve the wireless speed a little bit:

1. Disable "Smart Connect" on the Archer C80.

2. Change the channel and channel width for 2.4GHz, such as channel 11 and channel width 40mhz.

3. Try to re-locate the 821N and make sure the router and the adapter are in clear sight.

  @David-TP as it said 300 Mbps I bought it

But better I continue with Archer C50 (repeater mode) connected to pc via Ethernet (100 Mbit ports for Archer C50)

Archer C50 is dual band and can connect well with Archer C80 with smart connect enabled
