I have a mesh network setup with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands working perfectly. Recently, I tried to create a separate network exclusively for 2.4 GHz smart devices. However, now I'm facing issues: about 1 out of 10 times, it's impossible to connect to this network, and I'm unable to connect my smart devices to it. I've been trying to fix this for a week with no success.

I've tried rebooting all the Deco units and changing the channel, but nothing seems to work. If you have any solutions, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

@kaammal Deco routers don't support separate networks for 2.4 ghz & 5 Ghz.

 

The only workaround is to set your main network to 5Ghz only & set your guest network to 2.4Ghz only.

As for the "a separate network exclusively for 2.4 GHz smart devices", do you mean the "IOT network"?

May I know how many Deco units are in the Mesh system?

I noticed there is Deco X20 with firmware 1.5.2 Build 20230908 Rel. 33060. It doesn't support the IOT network yet.

Would it help if you temporarily remove it from the Mesh system?

  @ImtiazAli Thanks for your reply. I've set up a 2.4 GHz IoT network, but unfortunately, it's not operating effectively.

  @David-TP Thank you for your response. Yes, I have created an IoT network for the 2.4 GHz band. For the X20, I will remove it from my network and keep you updated
