Hi,

Hoping you can help please.

I have others in my household using my extender without my permission - is there a way to put a pin or password on access to the RE650 so that I can stop others using my extender? (they have the household wifi password for the router so I need to stop access to the extender).

2nd query: there are screenshots provided by TP Link support in the following query - where/how do I access those additional settings please?

Thank you,

G

Hi,

There are a few wireless range extender models that support customizing the password of the extended network, but yours is unfortunately not one of them.

To access the web management page shown in the other thread you can try if the webpage opens by typing http://tplinkrepeater.net in your web browser's address bar.

However, sometimes this doesn't work and in that case you will have to find out the current IP address of the RE650 and then enter that address into the browser's address bar, usually something like http://192.168.*.* (replace the stars with the actual numbers).

Once you've managed to login you might want to have a look at the extender's "Access Control" feature. This could be another solution for you. If you activate that feature and "Whitelist" only your own devices, then other users should not be able to connect via the range extender.
