IPv6 ULA support
I saw this suggested in another thread but that thread was locked so I'd like to propose this here. Having multiple IP addresses is one of the touted features of IPv6, but also of note is that due to privacy concerns IP addresses are expected to change frequently with IPv6. This makes setting up a LAN DNS server for IPv6 quite difficult since there is no reliable stable IP address to use other than the link local one. Perhaps the way to accomplish this would be to add, in wired network -> LAN settings, a section to set up a unique local address prefix in addition to the SLAAC or whatever global address acquisition method is already set up. It could be quite similar to the "manual prefix" setting that is there now, but be validated against fd00::/8 or fc00::/7 instead of the 2000::/3 that is there now.

Hi @Vincent-TP & @Hank21,
It has been a little over three months since your last update.
May I ask if there is any more detailed information/planning regarding implementation at this point?
Unfortunately, the feature did not make it into the pre-release for V6.0.0.x.
I think the community (your customers) deserves to be better informed about feature requests.
Thank you in advance!

@Vincent-TP and as always we are on 2026 ,stuck with a 300$ wifi 6 "premium" router and cannot use pihole because it lacks ULA and knowing how often you update your firmware i am sure we will have another "easymesh" style situation 5 years later and wired backhaul is still a dream....thank you we will remeber this next time we will go for upgrading!!

Hi Vincent,
Are there any updates? Can you give us an approximate timeframe for when full IPv6 support will be available? IPv6 is not usable in a business environment without ULA and is therefore effectively unavailable.
Tank you! :)

I understand how you feel. So that you know, I have already submitted this requirement to the relevant department. At the moment, I only know that it's added to the roadmap. But I have no information regarding the specific timeline or which version it will be included in. I appreciate your understanding.
