Archer BE550 - only 2x2 MIMO in 802.11AC?
hi,
I just bought the Archer BE550 router (802.11BE). Hw ver 1.6, the firmaware was auto-updated to Archer BE550(US)_V1.6_1.0.5 Build 20231214
This will replace my old Archer C80 (3x3 MIMO, 802.11AC).
I have a NAS device, that is connected to the network via 1Gbps port of RE650 (4x4 MIMO, 802.11AC).
My PC is connected to the router via LAN port of the router.
So, on C80 I can see rates up to 1300/970 (in the C80 web UI "network map"). iperf (LAN->NAS) shows ~750Mbits.
That's about max for 3x3 MIMO (3*433) that C80 supports.
After replacing C80 with 550BE, I can see 866/866 in the same configuration ("network map" of BE550 UI). iperf shows ~650Mbits.
It seems BE550 only supports 2x2 MIMO for the 5GHz 802.11AC.
I've tried disabling 2.4 and 6 bands - no luck.
MIMO/OFDMA is enabled; disabling does not change anything.
BE550 was restarted after each of those changes.
So, can I get to more than 866 with BE550 and RE650? E.g. firmware update?
Thank you.
