Model: Tapo L900-5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Tapo L900-5(EU)_V1_1.1.0 Build 230905

Hi, like @EnzoD86 in the other thread 'Tapo L900-5 won’t turn off', I have the same issue that the LED strip keeps glowing when it is switched off. This is not really convenient in my sons bedroom at night. What can be done about it?

  @WM1

Thank you. In this case, i would recommend contacting the retailer or local TP-Link support to proceed with the warranty.

By the way, can you share the Mac address and SN number of this light strip with me via private message? We wanted to see if devices with this type of problem have anything in common.

What colour does your strip light appear in the off state? Can you provide a picture or video?

Is it working fine with manual control using the controller? Have you tried to reset the light strip?

How to reset Tapo light strip: Press and hold the button on the controller for 10 seconds or more and then release. The light strip animating orange and green after that indicates a successful factory reset.

Try to switch a different controller if you have a spare one, for example, the one from a normal tapo light strip.

Hi @Wayne-TP, please find my answers below:

What colour does your strip light appear in the off state?

The light strip is colored blue in the off state, even when the color in the on state was other than blue.

Can you provide a picture or video?

Is it working fine with manual control using the controller?

There is no difference when using the controller or the Tapo app on iOS.

Have you tried to reset the light strip?

Yes, I have factory reset the light strip but this does not solve the issue.

Try to switch a different controller if you have a spare one, for example, the one from a normal tapo light strip.

Unfortunately I do not have an additional controller.
