extender set up
tp link tlwa860re
hi,
trying to set up a tlwa860re extender.
I can connect my mobile phone to my base router's wifi network just fine. I use tether 4.4.4 to set up the extender and connect it to the base router. it does connect there is no internet provision though... I reset the extender a couple of times and start all over always end up at the same situation.
any ideas??!

Hi,
Please open the Tether app again, log into the TL-WA860RE and then tap on the icon that resembles a Wi-Fi router (labelled "Main Network"). Post a screenshot of that screen here.

Let try different approach - use this guide and configure the RE from scratch again. But this time use a PC to configure the RE.

Can you post some screenshots of Network Map clicking on (Internet, Router and WA860RE):

@terziyski i solved connectivity using a mobile phone hot spot network instead of my hotel's wifi network. i suppose that means the hotel's wifi has some kind of restriction to being extended or to having extenders as clients? here's the screenshots for the hotel's wifi:

You didn't mention that you're trying to extend a hotel Wi-Fi.
Often the hotels Wi-Fi have a captive portal or other mechanism like short TTL packets to restrict extending their networks.

yes it's a hotel wifi. when i checked in i did mention that i need to plug my extender in order to provide my laptop with an ethernet connection.
they did not mention anything against this practice so i presumed it is doable.
apparently that's not the case. is there anything i can do to bypass the restriction?
