I had 2 Airport express units connected by Ethernet to the Extreme.
Will they mesh ion with the new M5 if I change the ethernet cable from the extreme to the M5

Hi, welcome to the community.
It is suggested to refer to the reply of Bob Timmons(https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250710562?answerId=251356425022&sortBy=best#251356425022).
With a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection, AirPort Express extenders would get internet service but their wireless networks would not be part of Deco Mesh.
