So when i try to setup my extender with my router which has dual bands it would only connect and show the 2.4 GHz network and cannot scan and find the 5GHz network so I manually try and add the network details for my 5GHz network but it says no main network. But i can connect to my 5GHz network from all other devices easily.

Hi,

Can you please check on which channel number the main network is broadcasting on in the 5 GHz band?

By the way, a good test has always been to set the Wi-Fi router to channel number 36 and then see if the client device (in this case the RE230) can find the network, because channel 36 is supported almost everywhere in the world. (with very few exceptions, like Bangladesh)
