Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.2

Hi,

Old setup, Fiber converter -> DIR-636L Wired&WiFi -> DecoS4x3 Wired&WiFi

DIR-636L manages an IoT network with cameras, heating, refrigerator, light switches. Cisco ATA...

This network is always on.

Deco is used for phones and computers when I am in the house, and all the Decos are switched off

when I leave. Different SSIDs and LANs on the two networks.

New setup, wanted but not managed to get yet;

Deco S4x3 Wired&Wifi -> Deco M5x3 Wired&Wifi.

Deco S4 replacing the DIR-636L and the new 3 Deco M5s replacing the S4s.

I cannot get a dhcp addres on the M5 when wired to the S4.

I would prefer to have a firewall between the two networks if possible.

Is this setup doable with all Decos?

Cheers,

Mike

  @mlarss

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.

Did you set Deco S4 and Deco M5 as separate Mesh networks on the Deco APP, and set both in wireless router mode?

Please also try to change the LAN IP address on S4 and M5 since the default LAN IP is the same/192.168.68.xxx to avoid of any IP conflicts.

Best regards.
