Model: RE700X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: RE700X(EU)_V1_1.1.4 Build 20230509

I added an RE700X to my exitent Home wileress lan in extender mode.

Repeater is counfigured in high speed mode:

 - 5GHz as uplink with the exitent wirless

 - 2.4GHz as extended wireless

DHCP and Easy Mes Disabled
Access controll enabled in whitelisted mode

On the home router a DHCP address is reserved for the extender

Analyzing the traffic on my lan I found that from extender IP I receive tons of flooding UDP packet to 20002 port.

I suppose that this is a bug because no client attached to the repeater needs that port.

Your issue is quite similar to this one here. You alreasy posted that Easymesh on RE700X is disabled. Is there any other devices in your LAN that support Easymesh ?

  @Runner973

Hi, did you install the Tether APP on your mobile phone?

The range extender communicates with the Tether APP via port 20002 to update the client status and the network status of itself.

Best regards.

Hi  @David-TP
yes the app is installed and connected to therepeater.
The flooding is present also when the app is closed.

Is it the expected behaviour?

Regards

Most probably once configured, the RE reports its status to the TP-Link Cloud regardless the Tether app is open or closed.

  @terziyski
This make sense, but 1 time each 10 seconds seems really a lot of packet
