Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.9 Build 20231225 rel. 57498

Hi, I am considering going over to mobile 5G network at home.

I have good 5G coverage in my area and would like some ideas of the best fit 5G router for my existing XE75 Pro mesh.

The X50 5G  appears to be compatible in terms of WiFi Speeds etc and will link it in to my existing mesh using ethernet backhaul to one of the Xe75 units.

Presumably  I can continue to use the 6GHz band as the backhaul method for the XE75 mesh units ?

However, the X80 5G seems a more attractive proposition in terms of longevity and upgrade potential.

Putting aside the cost what would be my best way forward ?

  @DaveyNG

Hi, Deco XE75 Pro would still broadcast the 6GHz when working as a satellite Deco behind Deco X50-5G/Deco X80-5G.

As for the difference between Deco X50-5G and Deco X80-5G, you could refer to:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/compare/?typeId=5700&productIds=63434%2C45769

The 5G module of Deco X50-5G is quite similar to Deco X80-5G and the main difference often lies in the wireless specification.

It needs to be mentioned that many advanced features of Deco follow the main unit. So if the current firmware on Deco X50-5G/Deco X80-5G doesn't support certain features yet, like VPN/IOT network, you are unable to use them on the Deco APP now.

Thank you very much and best regards.
