Is it possible with Deco BE63 (or any TP-Link product) to setup a network with dual WAN links (from different ISPs)

with the WAN links piugged into different units?
I only need failover, I don't need link bonding or anything like that.

ie.  WAN1 <--> (Deco1) <--backhaul link--> (Deco2) <--> WAN2

Note that it is important that (Deco1) and (Deco2) are in different rooms from each other.

@AstralWarrant Check out tp-link ER605

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

  @AstralWarrant

I was thinking something like this also. But my diagram goes like this. ISP1 and ISP2 connected to the 2 LAN/WAN of the MAIN AP Deco. I don't know if this kind of thing will work.

@ImtiazAli, it doesn't look like the  TP-Link ER605 will work for what I need.

I'm looking for a mesh setup where I can hook up the WAN connection (to the ISP) to different units that are in different rooms from each other.

@Nukos , Hi, nice to see you again.

Deco doesn't support connecting two WAN connections to its different Ethernet ports, or two WAN connections to different Mesh Units.

We might need to add an additional router that supports Link Failover.

How to use Deco with two ISPs?

While as for a hybrid Mesh system with general Deco and Deco_4G/5G, It is planned to support a failover connection like the following:

  • Deco X73-DSL works as the main Deco in DSL modem router mode and Deco X50-5G works as a satellite. when the DSL connection failed, Deco X50-5G could work as a 5G router to provide a backup mobile service.
  • Deco X73-DSL works as the main Deco in wireless router mode and Deco X50-5G works as a satellite. when the Ethernet WAN connection failed, Deco X50-5G could work as a 5G router to provide a backup mobile service.

Thank you very much and best regards.
