Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Ive just installed and connected a Deco M5 to my Deco XE75 mesh.

Firmware update completed but plugging in a NAS via the ethernet port on the M5 doesnt result in a connection. So I did a factory reset and it asked me for a firmware update which I did. It then connected the NAS for about 10 seconds then dropped the ethernet connection. It now refuses to reconnect the NAS. Cables are OK

I was advised that an M5 is ideal for this situation. Using WIFI>Ethernet on devices with no WiFi. Is this doable ?

Any advice appreciated

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. The NAS should work when connecting via an Ethernet cable to the satellite M5.

Is NAS using DHCP to receive IP addresses?

There are 2 Ethernet ports on Deco M5 and did switching to another port make any difference?

By the way, are you able to temporarily connect the NAS to another satellite Deco XE75 to see whether the NAS could get an internet connection through the Ethernet cable?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

Thanks David

After I posted I found that I was having problems with a stable connection even if plugged into a LAN switch. By simple process of elimination everything pointed to the eithernet port on the motherboard. So I used an ethernet to USB C adapter and everything worked. Motherboard on its way back for a warranty replacement

Thanks for your reply
