Hi,

we've been using a TP link AV 600 to boost our internet to upstairs.
my son hardwires his gaming pc into it for the best connection.

we've just had some electrical work done in my sons room- updated two very old single sockets to new double sockets.
The TP link is no longer working. devices are able to link to it via WiFi and when hardwired but receive no internet signal.
we've tried plugging it into one of our other plug sockets in a different room and it works fine so it must be something to do with the new plugs or how they have been wired up.

Has anyone ever come across this before? Any ideas what may be causing it? What the electrician will need to do differently to fix it?
The sockets themeselves are working fine power wise.

thank you

Karen

Not sure if this is helpful, came across when looking for info on a challenge I've got with mine.

Whilst I doubt you have a UPS in sons room, could the new sockets have surge protecton built in?

Q: Can Powerline adapters work if they are separated by UPS?

A: No. Usually, UPS devices will have filtering functions, which can prevent a Powerline connection. Some power outlets and circuit breakers may also have surge, ground-fault, or arc-fault protection functions, which can also interfere with, or prevent Powerline connectivity. We do not recommend using Powerline adapters in such environments.
