Our small business recently purchased a TP-Link Deco X73-DSL AX5400 VDSL, to provide better wifi coverage for the office.

 

The Deco X73 is configured as a router and connected to a TP-Link AVX220-G2v Modem Router.  Unfortunately, since we have started using the Deco X73, there have been continuous wifi dropouts:

  • the deco app loses the X73 and it's 2 Satellites.
  • 2 Satellites go offline
  • Main Deco goes offline with 2 satellites online.
  • Main Deco reboots
  • App unable to find Wifi/Deco

 

This has been VERY frustrating for our small business.

 

The problem is not the modem (AVX220-G2v Modem Router) as a main desktop is connected directly to the AVX220-G2v Modem Router and still has internet connection, whereas, all desktops/lap tops connected via wifi lose all connection if they are connected via the TP-Link Deco X73.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Are you still having the same issue now?

Since both Deco X73-DSL and TP-Link AVX220-G2v could work as the DSL modem router, did you set TP-Link AVX220-G2v in DSL bridge mode, then Deco X73-DSL as a wireless router?

As for the satellite Deco units in the Mesh system, are they Deco X73?

 

Have you tried to replace AVX220-G2v with Deco X73-DSL and use Deco products only, such as:

ISP Openreach box ---<DSL wire>---Deco X73-DSL---<Wi-Fi>----satellite Deco#1---<Wi-Fi>----satellite Deco#2

 

Or you could use AVX220-G2v as the DSL modem router with Wi-Fi disabled, then set Deco into Access point mode:

ISP Openreach box ---<DSL wire>---AVX220-G2v---<cable>---main Deco X73-DSL---<Wi-Fi>----satellite Deco#1---<Wi-Fi>----satellite Deco#2

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode
