Model: Deco X50-4G
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

Hi, I have a deco x50 mesh, 3 units, working in wifi router mode. My isp gives me an ethernet gigabit connection with dynamic ip, all works fine for over a year. But ocasionally, my ISP has 2-3 days disruptions. In order to have a backup sollution, I purchased an X50-4g unit, installed it into existing mesh and programmed it as main deco, works fine. I installed a nanosim and activated 3g/4g backup. Signal is extremely weak in my house, when I pull out main eth cable to test backup connection, it does not work, rssi is around -110dbm. I purchased and installed a big patch 4/5g antenna, but signal does not improve at all, nor the ability to transfer data over 4g. I read on the manuals that I need to activate external antenna, but there is no such option in my menu. The option however becomes available if I set the mesh in 3g/4g router mode, but I do not need that mode. I need it to stay in wifi router mode with 3/4g as backup, using external antennas. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

  @FlorianC

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

Have you checked whether there is an option to activate the external antenna under 3G/4G Backup?

I checked with the engineer earlier and he said the external antenna should also work under 3G/4G Backup mode.

Wait for your reply and best regards.
