We have just upgraded from FTTN to FTTP and want to upgrade our Archer VR600v to a newer model, but can't even decide on whether we should be looking at Wi-Fi Routers or DSL Modem Routers.

Can anyone explain the difference, and also explain the various model numbers - e.g. VR, VX, AX, A, C, etc?

Thanks

The difference can be seen by the cable connector that has to be plugged in your device.

DSL port has 4 ping RJ-11 connector, while the WAN port has 8-pin RJ-45 connector.

Your VR600v supports both standards DSL/WAN - it has DSL modem router mode and wireless router mode (via LAN4/WAN).

Here's a simple video guide on that.

VX series are Wi-Fi 6 capable DSL modem routers.

VR series devices are Wi-Fi 5 capable DSL modem routers.

AX series are the Wi-Fi 6 capable wireless routers.

A and C series are usually the Wi-Fi 5 capable wireless routers.
