Hi,

I have 2 pack BE85 that is connected via ethernet backhaul.

However, one of the room (in the middle) has rather weak connection, so i was thinking of buying a X55 or X50 to fill the gap. Can the new x55 be connected to the BE85 (main routers) using wifi backhaul?

i read that BE85 uses 6ghz as backhaul, but since x55 does not have 6ghz, will it use 5ghz as backhaul in this case? And would that end up distrupting other 5ghz devices?

Would it also leave a security gap since the X55 has different bands?

Thanks!

Hi, welcome to the community.

Deco X55 can be connected to Deco BE85 via Wi-Fi Backhaul(2.4GHz and 5GHz). The WiFi Backhaul here would not disrupting other 5ghz devices.

Can different Deco models work together?

Could you please further clarify what you mean by "security gap"?

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

 Great thank you!

Oh was reading dongknows about multigiga networks but its more for matching asus routers:

dongknows... best-multi-gig-wired-backhaul-aimesh-combos (cant post links here)

Someone mentioned that "So I’ve set up my AX89X + 2 XT8s in Ethernet backhaul mode. I know the XT8s have had their share of stability issues in the past, but it actually works very well now, besides a single critical issue: Since the AX89X ignores the 3rd radio of the XT8s, the XT8s create an *unencrypted* network, freely available for anyone to join and mess with your network."

so after reading that, i was wondering if we matches x55 with BE85, if there are 'spare' radios that might become unencrypted because of this too. But looks like it should be fine?

  @blackwhite_grey

Hi, Thanks for the further details.

The wireless Backhhaul signals of Deco are always encrypted. So when mixing Deco X55 with Deco BE85, there shouldn't be any security gap.

Best regards.
