Model: Deco BE85
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.18

I do not have option to set guest network vlan id in AP mode or router mode, it's a deal breaker for me

Am I missing something ? update coming ?

Hi, welcome to the community.

The guest network in AP mode is no longer separated by VLAN Tags.

Under router mode, the VLAN ID option is only available when the Deco BE85s are connected via Ethernet Backhaul, such as:

How to extend guest network when there is a switch between Decos

Do you plan to set multi-SSIDs(separated by VLAN Tags) through Deco, like the network senarios here:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/418/

Thank you very much and best regards.

I have tried in router and bridged mode, ofc backhaul over 10g ethernet but i do not get the option.
I was planning to put guest network to separate vlan. Though i see block guests from accessing network option works (i'm guessing you drop on layer 3) but no way to set VLAN, which i would prefere for many reasons, and definately that traffic is not tagged in any way

I saw advertisements of setting VLAN on guest network i am heavily dissapointed :(

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

For the unmanaged switch, or smart L2/L3 switch on the default settings, there is no need to configure the extra VLAN tags and the Guest network should work as expected.

I also tested on the Deco BE85 and you can set VLAN tags for the guest network in wireless router mode, such as.

Have you checked on the Deco APP to confirm that the satellite Deco BE85 works on the Ethernet Backhaul?

Thank you and wait for your reply.

Hi  @David-TP

Define expected... my expectations were guest network works on separate VLAN which is not the case in AP mode, in router mode i dont have the VLAN setting while still having ETHERNET icon present, i tried disabling enabling guest network restarting whole thing the option to set VLAN does not show.

and i can clearly see on my mikrotik that traffic is not tagged at all, can you elaborate how you separte guest network without vlan tag ? You do L3 filter ?
