Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.5 Build 20220812 Rel. 62220

Just tried to upgrade my Deco(US) v3 from 1.0.5 to the latest which was 1.1.18 according to the TP link(US) firmware page.

However, i get an upgrade fail error. please select correct firmware.

From what I've gathered from https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/667290

The current firmware seems to be a customized version for Singapore users.

The SG TP link firmware page does not include v3 as a selected model for some reason.

What i want to know is as this is a 2022 version and its alrdy 2024, are there really no upgrades/update on this firmware for this model for SG users?

Is there a way to bypass this firmware and load the US based version onto the deco?

If so, how can i go about it.

Thanks for any help,

Eicy

  @ImtiazAli Hi,

My questions are still unanswered. The questions I have is how can i bypass this "customized" firmware upgrade and instead upgrade firmware via the US tp link firmware page as my deco is from the US and how long would it take for TP link to push out the next firmware for SG users as the current software dates back to 2 years ago.

Thanks.

  @EicyN

Hi

Sorry, since your Deco is an SG customized version, the US version firmware cannot be upgraded.

Where did I buy Deco X20? If it is provided by the internet service provider, it is recommended to feedback it to the internet service provider to apply for new firmware.

Warm regards.

  @Joseph-TP Hi, this was bought from a retail store called Challenger. Unfortunately, I believe that they won't have an answer as they are sort of a distributor/reseller.

Are there really no work around on this ? Running a firmware that is dated 2 years back doesnt seem right.

Thanks,

@EicyN  You can't

It's not up to tp-link, it's up to the local distributor/ISP
