Model: Archer AX23
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20230725 Rel. 55602(5553)

I bought this Archer A23 1 month back. Hardware version is 1.2. But when I try to update firmware. It show "Upload error". I have cross-checked the hardware version on website and on the router page.

When I contacted customer care. They were first confused then said this model can only be updated via internet, not form local file. I have no issue but ddns is not working properly, its not updating at all, only sent ip on first log in then stays idle. That's why I asked. No asking customer care support, they don't even know what is ddns.

Region is India

Thank you in advance

This is the error that comes up.

  @jbstands

Hi,

Two things that you might want to check.

1) Normally, TP-Link routers sold in India either have region code "US" or "EU". (printed on the label on the underside of the router)
Make sure the region code printed on the label matches the firmware file you are trying to upload.

2) Some users have noticed the manual firmware update only works when connected to the router via a local connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi), but not via a remote connection.

One more observation.

It looks like you are trying to downgrade your Archer AX23 from firmware version "1.1.0 Build 20230725" to the older version "1.0.5".

Is there a particular reason for that?

Usually TP-Link doesn't allow downgrades to a lower major firmware version.

For example, a downgrade from version 1.0.9 to 1.0.5 should work, but a downgrade from 1.1.x to 1.0.x would be blocked.

@woozle I am having issue with Dynamic DNS (in this case no-ip) not updating regarding the my IP change.

Once I setup Dynamic DNS. It works for first. Get registered and send my public IP to Dynamic DNS (no-ip) server.

But after first time it doesn't report the changed IP address, even if I reboot the router.

It works on initial setup but then stops working. So thought maybe the firmware update should fix it.

Customer care support doesn't even know what is Dynamic DNS, so, no help from there.

Previously I had Archer C50. It worked flawlessly.

And for US EU question. On the Router back, it's model is written as AX23(IN), here IN means India, I guess. So that can be an issue too.

And I didn't notice v1.0.5. I only check the release no. Thank you for pointing out that.

Any idea why Dynamic DNS not working?
