user.crit : ntp check error!!!; errno(2): No such file or directory
Hello,
Lots of these in my log, which seems to be an issue of some sort
user.crit : ntp check error!!!; errno(2): No such file or directory
Example
Fri Dec 29 02:07:23 2023 user.crit : ntp check error!!!; errno(2): No such file or directory
Fri Dec 29 02:07:26 2023 daemon.err nrd[2959]: estimatorDot11kIterateCB: Timeout waiting for 802.11k response from 08:A6:BC:B1:EF:73
Fri Dec 29 02:07:32 2023 daemon.notice nrd[2959]: estimatorPerformMeasurement: Do 11k measurement for 08:A6:BC:B1:EF:73 on channel 36 from serving BSS APId 255 ChanId 36 ESSId 0
Fri Dec 29 02:07:33 2023 user.crit : ntp check error!!!; errno(2): No such file or directory
Fri Dec 29 02:07:35 2023 daemon.err nrd[2959]: estimatorDot11kIterateCB: Timeout waiting for 802.11k response from 08:A6:BC:B1:EF:73
Have tried resetting time zone, rebooting, etc. Time zone currently set to Europe/London. I have a couple S7 units in this network and 2 Xe75Pro's. The Xe75 is the main unit.
Any idea what is causing this and how to resolve? I have verified all latest firmwares are applied to all units.
Thanks.

@pjs_gsy Why are you showing 6-months-old log?
Does this error show up still?
If you're not facing any network issue, you can ignore them afaik

@ImtiazAli It's actually the current log. I guess if NTP is failing, it does not have the correct date/time?
I go in via the web interface. I actually used the 'clear all' to clear the log. Wait a short while. 'Refresh', and that's what I get, every time. Before I clear the log, there are multiple log pages. After I clear it, none. So the 'fresh' info that appears when I click refresh appears to be the current data, albeit with the wrong date (again - NTP is not working, so that is possibly why).
I just repeated the excerscise. 67 log pages. 'I clear all'. Wait. Refresh. Get this 1 lof page

@pjs_gsy I did not notice it before, but, in the web interface. So, I am correct. NTP is not working athd the units do not have the correct time. There are no internet access issues.

@pjs_gsy CRITICAL log shown below. Current data. TP-Link, please help resolve. Appears to be a bug - These units have been in place some time, for the most part are working. Have been upgraded/rebooted many times. They have full internet access. I am writing this over them now.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.
The release date of the 1.2.9 version for Deco XE75 Pro_V1 is 1.2.9 Build 20231225 Rel. 57498 so after a power restart of Deco XE75 Pro, the system log would always start at 20231225, then sync with the real-time when the Deco connects to the internet.
Have you tried to go to web interface>Advanced>System time>switch to a different time zone, then switch back to see whether it will update the time?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP Hi David - Yes, per my original post, I have tried changing the time zone via the web interface several times. Always still the same error. I have just done it again, changing the continent to America, select a state, save, then back to Euope/London, save, clear log, check, still the same.

Hi, Thank you very much for the update.
Please try to change the WAN DNS to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 to see whether it helped:
How to change DNS server settings on my Deco
If still no improvement, I have sent you a support email. Would you mind updating the email with a copy of the web UI log file?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP Thanks. I am in fact already using the google public DNS servers, so will take a look at the firmware. Thanks.
