Model: TL-PA8033P KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Just bought an TL-PA8033P Kit, AV1300, but in my ignorance, failed to realise this one doesn't give a wireless signal, just an ethernet connection.

Can I get an extra unit to add a wireless facility in a particular room?

Hi,

Yes, you can add another Powerline adapter with built-in wireless to the existing TP-PA8033P Kit, provided that the new Powerline adapter also uses the AV or AV2 standard.

However, whether you will be able to purchase a single unit or not depends on your location. At many places TP-Link only offers "Kit" versions that include at least two units.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

From the official website, you can see all powerline models. As you have a TL-PA8033P KIT already, if you need another powerline extender with wireless function, it is more recommended to use the same series for better performance, which means you may choose TL-WPA8 series. "W" means wireless.

So you may purchase a single TL-WPA8631P. Or you may choose to return your TL-PA8033P KIT then purchase a TL-WPA8631P KIT.

@woozle I don't know what AV means! so, for example, would TL-WPA4220 be compatible? https://www.amazon.co.uk/TL-WPA4220-Powerline-Extender-Broadband-Configuration/dp/B00DEYDF8I/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_mod_primary_new?crid=5GQ7F3BC9L5O&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.LPTfrEY_KelY5GDlAlb1XcaYshszgZOgO6cKKZlXiZs9DKaGTSVzPhgb-Enz9LPw5CJk5q0LguXh1HfXR7NrXrkWfE30TyTa9olePBPuhqB89pjVDcOLt-I8BpnvDr-97myrHB4TXkUgzaZPQ1S99F42DlsoM4kiTThlWPAcJYE90kZBFV6v8Cu6OxzAGcKGGZQlFDDpAdJ8vIbS_m-YwA.JhA8iI8OshAv2aBKseIQIhTE_4q6K-UsR6VHJoIHRHA&dib_tag=se&keywords=tp+link+powerline+wireless+add+on&qid=1720641673&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=tp+link+powerline+wireless+add+on%2Caps%2C92&sr=8-1

Okay, the full names of the standards are "HomePlug AV" and "HomePlug AV2", as mentioned in the "About this item" sections of the products you linked to. These will work with your existing TL-PA8033P Kit.

Note that the connection speed of a TL-WPA4220 will likely be lower than that of your existing units of the TL-PA8033P Kit.
