Hello

I hope you're all doing well. I'm looking to create a network bridge between two switches using two Deco X50 units and I could use some guidance.

Here's my current setup:

  • I have two switches, each located in different parts of my house.
  • I want to use my two Deco X50 units to establish a network bridge between these switches to improve network performance and coverage.

My questions are:

  1. Is it possible to create a network bridge between two switches using the Deco X50 units?
  2. If yes, could you provide a step-by-step guide on how to set this up?
  3. Are there any specific settings or configurations I should be aware of to optimize the bridge performance?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi

Could you please kindly provide us with the detailed topology, such as the ISP modem/router-main Deco-switch 1-satellite Deco-switch 2?

I sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Hello
Thanks for reply.

I have 2 computer connected to a switch in one floor (static ip set for both of them like 192.168.20.10 and 192.168.20.11)

I have another 2 computers connected to a switch in another floor (static ip set for both of them like 192.168.20.12 and 192.168.20.13)

No internet connection. It is like local network without any internet.
I have 2 Deco X50.

Is it possible to use them to bridge to networks?

Hi

It seems that you want the first Deco X50 to be connected to switch 1 via wire; the other X50 to be connected to switch 2 via wire, and the X50 will not be connected to the modem or ISP, but will only be used for internal communication. Is my understanding correct?
We do not recommend you use Deco in this manner. Deco might function for a brief period of time if its front end is not connected to an ISP or modem. However, in the long run, Deco APP management may regularly face issues such as being unable to locate deco.
