Yes this is utterly stupid. I literally have to use a screen recorder or record my phone's screen using another phone. If the video is being played back on my phone, doesn't that mean the phone has already downloaded the video data? Then, what's stopping the app from just writing the data it has already downloaded to local storage? What kind of BS is this?? But judging by how slow this app is being developed, I suspect this will never be implemented. Like different notification sounds for each camera was never implmeented. Like RGB color setting was never implemented. Like setting the amount of time recorded before detections was never implemented. All features that have been requested for a long time by a ton of users.

This should be supported without having to have cloud service. Cloud service is useful for some use cases, but we should be able to download clips without having to have them in the cloud.

  @icebrg 100%. For the time being there is a workaround: when you are watching recorded video, tap the record function and the app will record the video to your phone. I think they do this to limit bandwidth usage, although personally I don't see the problem with letting users download the video directly, since we are able to watch it remotely, which means one way or another we are downloading the video. The app could be designed so that downloaded videos don't need to be downloaded again and can be played back from local storage, thereby actually saving bandwidth.

We need to have the availability to download the videos remotely, it's useless if i cannot because the thief can just break the camera and all gone, also you must remove the limitation of many times i watch the recorded videos.

This is a root basic functionality for ant cctv recording system. I'm so angry i was just expecting it to be common sense and just obviously work. Well turns out it doesn't. I will cancel ant further purchases from TPLink until this is enabled. I was looking to get 6-8 more for a store, but clearly I'll look elsewhere for now.

I'd like to request the ability to remotely download the video clips on the SD card for future references and in case the SD card lost or damaged.

  @RandyAndy

I agree.

Downloading is a basic required function.

Why make it impossible?

Even when I connect all of my devices to my 2.4G LAN network I still get this STUPID error?

I am glad I did not spend more $$$ on the highr res camera, this is sick.
