Model: TL-PA9020P KIT
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I currently have a pair of TL-PA9020P Powerline units; one wired into my VM router and the other wired to my TV to improve my streaming.

I would now like to add another Powerline unit to provide WiFi to another area in my home. I purchased a TL-WPA8631P but I believe this only works with OneMesh because, although it pairs successfully, it does not provide internet.

So, what Ranger Extenders will work with my current Powerline set up ?

Hi,

The OneMesh feature of the TL-WPA8631P is optional. It should still provide regular Wi-Fi when it's not part of a OneMesh network.

And the TL-WPA8631P should work fine in combination with TL-PA9020P units.

Does the TL-WPA8631P at least provide an Internet connection through its Ethernet port or not even that?

If there is no Internet connection either way, then hook up a computer to one of the TL-PA9020P and use the tpPLC Utility software to verify that all the Powerline adapters are indeed properly connected.

Also, for troubleshooting purposes it's preferable to move the TL-WPA8631P closer to the TL-PA9020P that is connected to the router. (best would be to have both in the same room)
In some cases there have been issues with the Internet connection when the Powerline signal was marginal.

Thanks once again woozle, all now set up and working now, although I had to use the app on my phone rather than the Utility which didn't appear to work on my PC, even their 'live chat' to a real human couldn't help me there.

I also learnt that the internet led only illuminates if you have a device plugged into it, doh !
