Last May I changed from BT because I was getting very slow speeds and lots of buffering to vodaphone tp link router and a deco S4 AC1200 because my neighbour was using exactly same system and getting great speeds.

I live in an old house with thick walls and installed the router in the front of house 1 node in a bedroom and 1 node in hall outside the kitchen and lounge and was getting great speeds with no buffering even in the garden.

A few months ago speeds dropped and I started getting buffering so bad it was impossible to watch programs on catch up tv, my neighbour was still getting great speeds with same equipment I have.

I moved the router to back of house in conservatory 1 node still outside kitchen and lounge and the other node in room at front of house still not great speeds.

After contacting National Broadband who emailed me directions to try different things (I am 70 year old female so minimal technical skills) I managed to try everything they suggested with no improvement so they sent an 02 sim for me to try but that was even worse so I put the vodaphone sim back and still no improvement, just checked my speeds and getting 6.39 Mbps download and 8.66 Mbps upload which is better than a couple of weeks ago when it was at its worse.

The node at front of house is showing me it only has a weak signal I have stopped it with node by kitchen to check it is not a node problem but which ever node is at front of house always shows weak signal.

My question is would it improve signal of weak node if I purchased more nodes and placed them around the house or does it not work like that 🤔  The National Broadband cannot give me an answer as to why my neighbours work fine and mine do not all they can suggest is I upgrade to their other system which is a great deal more expensive to purchase and double the monthly cost.

Any suggestions would be appreciated but please rember I am a 70 year old with limited technical skills so may need things spelt out to me in layman's terms 😩

  @HASSLE

Hi

The unit that is wired to the Vodafone router is the main Deco. It is recommended that you try moving the satellite Deco closer to the main Deco to see if the signal will improve;
And please place Deco in an open place and away from high-power electrical appliances;

Regarding the question of whether more Deco can be added, we may need to confirm whether the problem is with the Vodafone router or the Deco signal. It is recommended that you connect to a Vodafone router's Wi-Fi to test the speed.
