Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 3.8.10

I've been using my 2 M5s with my old fiber internet service provider (modem provided by ISP was Huawei Echolife) without issues. Unfortunately, when my wifi connection went bonkers and my ISP'ss technician didn't show up for 3 weeks, I was forced to terminate its service and subscribe to a new ISP.

Before my new subscription, I bought a 4G wifi router for temporary use and tried to connect the M5 to it without success. Set up via app was supposedly successful with the green light on, but no internet signal coming from the unit.

2 days ago I had my new fiber connection installed with a new ZTE ZXHN F670L modem. Same issue with the M5 persisted. Successful linking in the app with green light on on the unit but no internet connection. I tried all 3 LAN ports available (4th is for my free cable tv that installer used), but none worked. Each LAN port lights up whenever I connected the M5 to it.

I already changed the operation mode in the app to ACCESS POINT instead of WIFI ROUTER yet nothing happened.

Anything else I should do to let my M5s work? Or is there something I should configure with the modem to make it connect to my M5s?

  @Mamabee

Hi

If you mean that your phone cannot detect the Wi-Fi name of Deco, it is recommended that you reset Deco and then reconfigure it.

1. Please use a pin to press the reset hole on the bottom for 1 second to reset both Decos.
2. Power off satellite Deco and just keep main Deco powered on.
3. Refer to the link below to set up Deco:
How to set up Deco
4. Finally, it is recommended that you change Deco to access point mode to avoid double NAT after the configuration is successful and the network is available.

I did reset my 2nd deco as many times as I tried to add it to the existing network, which is MANY times. It did get linked to the network (I saw it in the diagram of decos in the app) but I had never been able to successfully connect to it when I move from ground floor to the 2nd floor stair landing into our bedroom. The app would just say the 2nd deco is not connected after a short while that it shown in the diagram. The first time I set up both decos years ago during the start of the pandemic, they worked seamlessly. When I had to reset everything because I changed my service provider last month, this issue of the 2nd deco not being able to function just surfaced :( In my exasperation, I just used the Tenda Novas that my service provider gave for free and both are working just fine. Signal is not as powerful as the decos, but at least they work. P.S. I did change the network setting from Wifi Router to Access Point but this didn't help as well.
