Hello tp-link community,

I have a problem with some devices... just not my phone(s24).

But all tablets and a iphone 13.

In my sons rooms I have bad reception and often connected without internet(more this than nor connected)

If I make my s24 a Hotspot, the devices have a connection with internet in that room.

I've contacted tp link costumer service but to be honest they were horrible at helping at the end they just said I have to pull a cable in that room. But unfortunately that's not possible.

Before I had a archer5400 where the internet in that room worked flawless. Now with the two be85 I have I run into these problems.

I've bought these with the idea that I would have superior internet again with even better reception.

Does anyone have a idea we're I should start looking were a potential problem could be.

Or is the be85 just inferior with reception towards the archer5400?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards splishysplashy

Hi, since iPhone 13 doesn't support 6GHz, did most devices connect to the main (2.4+5GHz band)?

Did it help if we disable "fast roaming" and "beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced?

If possible, could you please try to set Archer C5400 as the DHCP router, Deco in the AP mode to see whether it made the WiFi network better:

ISP service---Archer C5400(with WiFi disabled)---<cable>---main Deco BE85(in AP mode)----<Wi-Fi>---satellite BE85

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

  @David-TP

Thank you for the help already! I appreciate it.

Yes I've connected them to the 2.4/5GHz band.

I even connected them now to the IoT network.

Still the same issues.

All the modern stuff is turned off. Just the mesh is on.

I don't know how to do that with the archer. I will find out and come back to you in some time.

No diffrence.

I walk around with the device and have internet.

And after some time in my sons room I'm connected without internet.

I've put the archer away again and connected the deco.

I'm greatfull for the support thanks David.

More ideas?

Hi, Thank you very much for the update.

In this way, I'd like to follow up on your case via email and consult the engineer for more advice.

At the same time, could you please help me check the following details:

  •  I saw you mention ”All the modern stuff is turned off. Just the mesh is on.“

Did you set Deco BE85 into "Access Point" mode?

  • Apart from the iPhone 13, can I also have the model numbers of other mobile devices that were "connected but no internet"?

-  Are they able to temporarily restore the internet connection if we turn off/on "WLAN" on these devices or restart the connected Deco?

  • For the Samsung S24, is it also connected to the main 2.4/5GHz network, or 6Ghz Wi-Fi instead?

Please also check whether you can receive my email later.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

I got the email and responded.

Thanks!!

No I don't know how to do that.

The main Deco is in router mode... the other deco I don't know how to put it in acces point mode I assume it did itself. It's connected trough a cable with the first deco.

I have a samsung tablet a9+ and a a8 tablet.

They are experiencing the same problem.

If I turn off and on the wifi on the device it's exactly the same. Connected no internet.

Reboot of the decos doenst do anything at all aswel.

The s24 is connected to the mlo connection.

The other devices if I connect them to the mlo it's even more horrible.
