Hi all,above is my network diagram and the pencil number across the top are my Speedtest results at different points when attached to each node on the network.

I've got the decos in AP mode, factory reset the whole system twice, firmware upgraded and replaced the Ethernet cables between the second xe75 and the x50, but still a significant drop which doesn't make any sense to me.

has anyone else had problem using a Poe switch? It's a tp link unmanaged 5 port switch so I'd have though it would be fine?

Anyone got any advice I could try?

  @coswf

Hi,

Is the speed from the 2nd Deco unit normal? You can stand next to it and connect to the main Deco and test the wireless speed you can get.

And for the Deco X50-Outdoor, please make sure your device is connected to this unit when you test. You can change the WIFI settings to 5G only and check if the speed would be better.

Also, you can try different Ethernet ports on the POE switch.

What is the modem of the switch?

  @Sunshine speed at second deco is lower (to be expected), but still over 200mb.

definitely attached to the garden x50 with those low speed tests.

ill try and chance the Ethernet port on the x50.

modem is a fritz box av - very reliable units and no issue there with receiving the max speed my connection can receive

As an update here I removed the Ethernet backhaul between the two units and relied on mesh (using the Poe switch for power only) and speed increased up to about 60mb on the Garden unit.

so, it looks like by introducing the switch in to the mix, that's causing the significant speed drop. All cables are 6 or 6e and have been switched out.

The switch is also brand new, but I have a spare and have switched that out as well with no change.

switch model number is LS105GP
