The satellite Decos are solid green(or white) and work well but they are displayed "Offline" on the Deco APP.

Available Solutions:

  • The official firmware will be released later to optimize this issue.

  • Based on the feedback we've received, the majority of issues are related to the abundance of smart home devices, particularly Tapo smart devices. To address this, we recommend installing the following beta firmware as a temporary solution:

Note:

1. Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the Pre-release firmware!

2. It is recommended that all Decos in the network be upgraded to beta firmware.
3. Please also check whether there is a firmware update for the Tapo device in the Tapo APP. If so, please update the Tapo device to the latest firmware.
4. How to update the satellite Deco units:

When the satellite Decos are offline, they may not be successfully upgraded through the Web UI. In this case, it is recommended to upgrade according to the following steps:

  • Please temporarily power off most of the smart home devices and wait for the satellite Deco come back online.
  •  Once all the satellite Deco units are confirmed online, try upgrading to the beta firmware again through the Web UI.

-If the main Deco and satellite Deco units are on different models, you could also update the satellite units individually through its IP address.

  • After ensuring that all Deco units have been successfully upgraded, power on the Tapo devices again and observe if the issue is resolved.

This works great. Had to update the two S4 satellites by IP address, because knocking off the Tapo smart devices had no effect in restoring online status. I have 36 Tapo smart devices connected to the Deco S4 mesh.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

There haven't been beta firmware versions for Deco W7200 and Deco X3600 yet. I'd like to follow up on your case via email and check with the engineer whether he could provide further assistance.

Best regards.

Which beta firmware should I install for the W7200 and X3600 devices? My mesh network is made up of these and is having this same problem. Thank you.

Hi

Is your P9 network still working ?

I tried to reset my whole P9 network and now seem to be in a worse position as devices wont reconnect as DHCP is not coming through and they cant get an IP address if they are connecting to my slave satelite access points.

What I have leaned

All Satelite P9 v2 devices use power passthrough OK but WiFi is broken as my sons PC works 90% of the time but even that has started to flash red recently more.

As WiFi is broken, devices are not getting DHCP and devices used to work as they had an IP already but on my new network, this was not the case and items like Tado, cant connect unless they are plugged directly to the router.

All slave satelite P9 devices connected all great for about less than 5 minutes when I recreated my network and then went offline.

I will try and upgrade all to beta like you did 1 by 1 on a new network, if this works but reading your posts further on. I dont think it did and you maybe back on an older Firmware

Thanks in advance.

TPLINK - Are you ever going to fix this ?

@David-TP Hi David, I promised you that I would come back and report my progress with the latest firmware for my 4 Deco X50-POE(1.0) running firmware v1.2.5 Build 20241031 Rel. 30509.

Ironically, I came here to report that with the firmware you have uploaded, my Decos and the issue I originally reported had no longer been present. However, this morning, I checked the app and 3 out of 4 Decos were reporting offline. Logging into the Web UI, they appeared as online. I refreshed the app a couple times and the Decos showed up as online.

I will say that since I upgraded to the firmware you provided, I have not had any issues. So this morning's issue I would like to say was an anomly. Because again, I have had zero issues since upgrading.

If you need any assistance with logs, etc. please let me know.

Cheers!

@David-TP This particular problem has cost me several hours/days to resolve (on my own, because Support didn't pick up on this being the issue).  I'm glad I eventually found this article - it helped a little, but it still wasn't perfect for me.  Deco's would drop offline after a few hours/days instead of always being offline.

It's ironic that this bug affects networks with a lot of tp-link devices.  It's a bug introduced by tp-link, and it's affecting customers with a lot of your products.  I've had many problems over the years, but this one is the worst, and the final straw.

I've now bought whole new WiFi mesh system from a different brand (at great expense) to replace my Deco network.  I had the replacement setup within minutes and it's been amazing so far.

My advice is for tp-link to get this sorted ASAP before you lose any more customers.

  @SayeemAhmed

Hi, Do you mean the "OFDMA/Mu-MiMO" used to be added to Deco X10 before?

I didn't realize it till now as it hasn't been mentioned anywhere but I do know that this on/off toggle did exist on certain models. If any model doesn't support this toggle in a mixed Mesh system, it will eventually disappear from the Deco APP.

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

I installed the firmware 1.4.5_build_20241021_Beta for Deco X50/Deco X55_V1.2

The problem of satellites that were offline but with green LED, now seems to be solved.

However, there is the problem of devices connected to the IoT Wi-Fi network that are offline even if working.

This problem was solved in the previous beta.

The problem has reappeared with the official 1.4.5 firmware and is also present on this beta.

Hi, Do you mean the "OFDMA/Mu-MIMO" on/off toggle on the Deco APP?

It isn't added to Deco X50_V1.3. Only certain models, such as Deco X90/XE75/75 Pro_V1 have added this on/off toggle-(https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/655004?replyId=1352020).

The OFDMA/Mu-MIMO is enabled on Deco X50 by default.

Thank you very much and best regards.
