  @GuillermoA

Hi, the official 1.6.4 hasn't added the bug fix here but the next version 1.8.0 would.

And I just updated another new firmware which has fixed the issue here and it was based on the official 1.6.4.

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

I have been running the Beta SW for my Deco M9 for 6 months now. I get messages about a new Firmware version available and that I should upgrade.

I am running the version which maintains visibility on connected Decos shared in this article as a solution

1.6.3_build_20240715_Beta

And the latest available for download is

Deco M9 Plus(EU)_V2.20_1.6.4 Build 20240718

Has the fix included in the Beta version been added to the 1.6.4 Release? If not, is there a timeline for this to be included?

I am trying to configure IPTV/VLAN and no matter what configuration I enter in the app it does not allow me to save it, wondering if I am hitting a bug on the Beta version I am running.

Thanks

Guillermo

As much as I want this fixed. I'm not sure I would trust any update on this network device and don't want to have to go through all that again.

Currently looking for a good alternative as I now have to get the network into my office. My original plan was to buy an extra P9 but not after these last few months.

It would be nice if they open up the software/firmware to open source and let ooenwrt have a go as they are not far off getting it working and don't really care about all these devices. They are struggling with the Poe part of the P9.

Deco P9_V2 1.2.1_build_20240925_Beta

Any chance to get new firmware from tp-link with fixes?

  @buggy93 Wow, I've come back to my own post out of curiousity, and see this is still a problem?!  I'm so glad I ditched all my Deco's and bought a whole new Eero setup - it's so much better

The beta firmware also gives problems and does not allow you to see clients connected to the network.

Moreover, sometimes the devices fail to connect to the network and disconnect.

Unfortunately tp-link is disappointing!! 😡 😑

  @MagicMiguel

I think you misunderstood a bit. Like you, based on this thread, I had access to this publicly released beta firmware, just like anyone else. I didn’t provide feedback because I was obliged to do so, but out of pure passion and the hope that the issues would be resolved and clearly understood by TP-LINK engineers. As I said, I did this and prefer to continue helping with feedback where my knowledge can be applied, of course, and I will keep doing it because that’s the kind of person I am—if I can help, I gladly help anyone. 😃

And yes... I believe I have covered some key points regarding how TP-LINK should take action in certain circumstances. I completely agree with you, and as I mentioned, this issue should have been resolved a long time ago.

in addition to Denis' points, I would also like to point out that it sounds like he is in the position where he can spend months helping to beta test firmware. I was not. I work from home with no option to go into an office. I need a stable network at all times. Not only did I spend a lot of money on my 4 Decos, but then I had to spend more money on 4 new Eeros once this problem surfaced. That is around 1,000 USD total in networking equipment. The point has been made that if the issues cannot be fixed quickly due to resources, an immediate rollback should have happened so people can use their networks. The internet is a critical utility for many people. A networking company should be aware of this.
